All City elections are administered by the City Secretary in accordance with law as established by the City of Morgan’s Point Ordinance, Secretary of State, and the Texas Ethics Commission. This includes the preparation and publication of all official notices and orders, preparations for election officials and polling places, and the receipt and filing of all candidate forms and reports.

The City Secretary serves as the City’s Election’s Administrator and also as the Early Voting Clerk.  City elections are held every first Saturday of May each year.  The Mayor and Council Positions #2 and #4 are elected in even-numbered years, and Council Positions # 1, #3 and #5 are elected in odd-numbered years.  The terms of office are two years.

Current Elections:

Attention Morgan’s Point Voters:

Any voter who applied with Harris County for an annual voting application pursuant to HB 1297 and was approved, will receive a ballot by mail from the City of Morgan’s Point for the May 5, 2018 General Election.

Voters who receive these ballots by mail have two options:

  1.  Complete the Mail Ballot and MAIL it back to the City Secretary’s Office, located at 1415 E. Main Street, Morgan’s Point, TX 77571 by May 5th, or
  2. Voters who wish to vote in person (by personal appearance) who received a ballot by mail, MUST bring their unvoted mail ballot and yellow envelope marked “Official Election Mail” to the City Secretary’s Office during early voting (April 23rd - May 1st) or on Election Day (May 5th).  The unvoted ballot and envelope may not be returned in person on any other dates.   

Early Voting by personal appearance will be conducted at City Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 23rd – April 27th and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on April 30th & May 1st.
